"Scryer" giclée print
Titled "Scryer" this piece depicts the 10 Lined June Beetle that inhabits the part of California on the topographical map around the area of Yosemite Lake. I intentionally put this type of insect on the map as the scarab beetle has been used as a symbol of rebirth in ancient Egypt and still is to this day all over the world. The narrative tells a story of the potential of water to return to the desert, reforesting the land and bringing with it 4 legged inhabitants such as the featured elk, as if the beetle itself is the scrying mirror, or an object of divination.
Available in 4 sizes: 5 x 7 inches, 8 x 10 inches, 11 x 14 inches, and 18 x 24 inches as an archival giclée print.
